January 5, 2025 – January 26, 2025
We are preparing to embark on 21 days of prayer and fasting this month! We will collectively engage in guided prayers on the Believe LA app and website, and we invite you to join us on the journey.
The goal of prayer is to communicate with God. This communication is not just a monologue; it’s a dialogue. It’s a time to give thanks and make requests to our Heavenly Father (Philippians 4:6). We will collectively engage in guided prayers on the Believe LA app and our website: believela.org.
The goal of fasting is to draw near to God. Fasting simply means abstaining from certain types of foods for a determined period of time. Some fasts involve abstaining from actions or behaviors that distract from our spiritual goals.
The significance of 21 days of prayer and fasting is to draw near to God, deepen our relationship with Him, and seek His help in times of special need. As the world constantly calls for our attention, we are refocusing on the Lord. As we enter the year of 2025, we are motivated to begin with a solid foundation!
Prayer is our first response, not our last resort.
Our guided prayer videos and fasting journey will begin on 1/5/25. The starting time is flexible and can be personalized.
We will collectively engage in prayer through guided prayer videos. The prayer and encouragement will be led daily by one of our pastors. The purpose of this is to help us align toward a common goal as a church.
It’s our hope that through this season, your prayer life becomes more natural, effective, and enjoyable.
This fast involves removing certain foods from your diet, like the Daniel Fast, where you eliminate meat, sweets, alcohol, and bread, and consume water, juice, fruits, and vegetables.
This fast involves abstaining from food in the morning and afternoon, typically from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.
You drink only liquids: proteins, or typically water with light juices as an option.
This fast is ideal if you’re new to fasting, have health issues, or want to refocus areas of your life. For example, you could give up social media or TV during the fast and gradually reintroduce it afterward in a balanced way.
